Welcome
“Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.”
(Charles W. Eliot)
The Vanaprastha Library Project is initiated out of the need to set up a library for our school. Our school is situated in a remote village in South India, where we educate mainly village children. As far as we are concerend a library is more important than a temple. A library is the power house to development and progress. A library plays an important role in the learning process of each child. And it is essential to help the children develop a reading habit. A school without a library is like a man without a backbone. Therefore we would like to create a versatile and user-friendly library for our children and for our teachers.
In the About Vanaprastha section you can learn more about us. Click here to learn more about the library we would like to set up.
If you want to give us a hand and support the Vanaprastha Library Project, we explain various ways to do so in the How to contribute section. For donating a book, you will be provided with a list of books from where you can select the book that you would like to donate to our library. The books will be shipped to us for free, and we will add a label on the book with your name to show that you have donated this particular book. Furthermore we will name you in our contributor section, if you agree. Kindly donate a book or tell your friends about our library project! Thank you!
Regularly we will report about our progress. Furthermore we appreciate if you contact us for any suggestions or questions.
If we all join hands and if everyone can donate a book, we shall definitely have a beautiful library soon.
“When many work together for a goal, great things may be accomplished. It is said a lion cub was killed by a single colony of ants.â€
